Integrated Reading Method (IRM)

The results of combining reading theory and process learning theory are phenomenal. We know that wonderful readers 1) understand what they read, 2) feel comfortable when they read, and 3) sound fluent and natural when they read aloud. For anyone who is doing less than that, professional tutoring or a Reading World workshop will explain and demonstrate how to make wonderful readers out of our struggling readers forever. When a competent reader is attempting to read a book, there are two possible reasons that could cause the reading to be less than wonderful: 1) The reader is tired and/or bored, and doesn’t really have the intent to read, or 2) The reader doesn’t have enough prior knowledge to really grasp the text. Other than these two reasons, adults and children should be able to comfortably understand and enjoy reading.
